Dear Church,
It’s with a deep level of excitement that I anticipate serving as your senior pastor in several weeks! My family and I are thrilled to be joining the Rolling Hills family in June.
We developed such a strong love for Rolling Hills during our visit in early April that we wish we were there now. As we met members of the leadership team, spent time with Jeff and Jerri and interacted with the Rolling Hills family we quickly felt like we were home. You know the process of seeking a new senior pastor from Jeff, but I would love to share how the Search family has experienced it.
Last spring, God began to stir in me a deep desire to serve a church as senior pastor. After serving two large churches in an associate pastor role for nearly fifteen years the pull was irresistible. Perhaps it was connected to my impending 40th birthday. Some men long for a convertible as they approach mid-life. For me, I longed for a church to lead and a congregation to love. I suppose that’s a pretty good way to have a mid-life crisis.
As I learned more about Rolling Hills I quickly developed a deep love for what God has been doing amongst you. In less than twenty years God has built a thriving, vibrant church! When my wife, Karyn, and I visited over Palm Sunday we immediately wanted to become part of this community. From the engaging music and biblically relevant sermon to the sweet children’s ministry and welcoming atmosphere it’s apparent that Rolling Hills is an inviting place!
Karyn and I are natives of Wisconsin and Michigan. She went to college in west Michigan and I attended college and graduate school in the Chicagoland area. We are blessed with three great kids: Maegan, Emma, and Jack. We are all very excited to become Californians.
Rolling Hills has much to be thankful for. Jeff’s faithfulness to the vision of this church has provided a firm foundation for us to continue building on. He has been a role model, a guide, and a pastor to many of us. I am humbled to follow the example he has set.
I agree with Jeff that Rolling Hills’ finest days are ahead. As we look to Christ and follow him we will continue to be the church God intends for us to be. We are committed to being a church that connects people to one another, that challenges each person to become more like Christ, and cultivates hearts for people who need Jesus. By God’s grace we will bring Him glory in El Dorado Hills and the surrounding area for generations to come!
I can’t wait to be your senior pastor!
In Christ’s Service,
Bill Search

Bill, Congrats, both to you and to RHCC! Your work at Southeast Christian Church leaves behind a legacy of a commitment to connecting people to Jesus and to one another. As you and I have discussed, the common denominator of people in need (spiritually, emotionally, financially) with few exceptions is COMMUNITY, the way we find it in Acts 2 and 4. Love you brother! My family will be praying for your family. And I am confident the Southeast family will be praying for the Rolling Hills family.
For the Father and the fatherless! Denny
