The outreach arm of Rolling Hills is called SHARES – Sharing Hope and Resources in El Dorado County and Surrounding Areas. This ministry focuses on demonstrating God's love by extending our church beyond the auditorium and into the community through a variety of projects and partnerships to alleviate human suffering.
SHARES focus in 2012:
1. Hunger - We cannot turn away from such incredible need in our community. Individuals, families and children are waking up daily without the security of food to eat. Rolling Hills will play a large role in feeding those who are hungry through our food distribution program and additional homeless outreach projects.
2. Children In Need - Jesus' love for children is so clear in the Bible. We believe that it is essential for us to care for children in our community that have been overlooked and underprivileged. We will meet the tangible needs of children in our community and provide the love and affection they deserve.
3. Holidays - The opportunity to live out the heart of Jesus is never greater than during the holidays. We will launch an all out attack of compassion during Easter and Christmas. This outreach focus will provide multiple opportunities for families, small groups and our church as a whole.

Please bring your gently used clothing, in good repair, to meet the needs of the less fortunate at our food distribution and our sister church in Sacramento, Genesis Missionary Baptist Church. We also accept children's toys, books, small working appliances, cooking utensils, clean bedding and towels.
Donations can be made during regular church office hours and during Sunday services.

"Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy." Proverbs 31: 9,10
Be a positive role model for a child between the age of 7 and 15. Through a one-to-one mentoring relationship, youth are given support and opportunities that help them grow into confident, competent and caring adults. Depending on your schedule, you can mentor a child just 45 minutes a week during the child's school lunch or after school. Or you can devote 2-3 hours a week doing activities in the community. There is an at-risk child waiting to have a friendship with you. It's fun, rewarding and it works.

Join us in the fight to end hunger. Over 50 families who face hunger in El Dorado County regularly come to our church to receive monthly food (during the holidays this increases to over 100!) We encourage our church to bring non-perishable food donations to the collection bins during morning services on the first Sunday of each month.

Furniture for Families is a local, non-profit, all volunteer furniture bank. We solicit good, serviceable used furniture, store it in our warehouse, and distribute it (free of charge) to qualified clients who are referred to us by caseworkers from social services agencies familiar with the specific needs of the clients. Here is an opportunity to fill the needs and enrich the lives of both.
