If you have been wanting to follow Jesus in baptism there will be an opportunity Sunday, June 23, following the 2nd service.  Wear modest clothes to get wet and bring a towel.  We will meet at the Beal’s Point Beach, at Folsom Lake.  Bring your family and friends to celebrate with our Roll Hill family that have decided to get baptized, an outward act of an inward decision to accept Christ.

About Beals Point Beach:

It is located off of Folsom-Auburn Road.  Directions:  Take EL Dorado Blvd towards Folsom.  Turn left on Francisco drive and then turn left on Green Valley Rd.   Next, turn right on East Lake Natoma St., continue onto Folsom Lake Crossing and then turn right onto Folsom-Auburn Rd and then turn right at Oak Hill Dr.  Continue on Oak Hill Dr until you reach the parking lot.  The cost to enter the beach is $10.

Observation  This ancient wisdom applies today.  It is for all who aspire to lead well.  It is for moms and dads who lead families.  The manager of a team, a tribe, a ten thousand employee company.

Pay attention to what matters is a long term view of taking care of who and what we have been entrusted with.

Application  This proverb has a romantic or noble air to it.  I mean, who doesn't want fat healthy sheep, increased profits and lower expenses, kids and a household that are fun and cared for?  Starting well isn't the challenge, finishing strong is the challenge.

It is the daily discipline, the returning to what really matters that wears a grove into the chaos, that builds rhythm and life.  Small steps repeated will take you anywhere you want to go.

Prayer  Help me to pay attention to the main thing, the critical path, to stay focused in spite of the distractions.

God loves us, we blew it, Jesus paid for it, we must receive Him.

The One Minute Answer:

>  God loves us.  God is loving, holy, and pure.  He loves every person "as is",  where they are, and where they've been.
>  We blew it.  We were originally created good, but we have messed up, sinned, and missed the mark.  We are spiritually helpless.
>  Jesus paid for it.  Jesus is God, who also became man.  He died in our place and offers forgiveness as a gift with no strings attached!
>  We must receive Jesus.  We accept the gift when we respond by asking Jesus to become our forgiver and leader.

Read the story it's pretty cool.  It's about a lonely outsider who gets invited in, a person who has made massive mistakes who gets a fresh start.  And the story shows how Zaccheus responds the invitation and the fresh start - a concept we call grace.

This is a story for everyone!

Rehearsals will be Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15, with extended rehearsal times as the performance date gets closer, which is scheduled for the weekend of May 4^th/5^th.  Auditions for lead acting roles as well as soloists are scheduled for the first few rehearsals.
