Bud Lamb

Scripture "Know the condition of youf flocks, pay attention to your herds." Proverbs 27:23

Observation This ancient wisdom applies today. It is for all who aspire to lead well. It is for moms and dads who lead families. The manager of a team, a tribe, a ten thousand employee company.

Pay attention to what matters is a long term view of taking care of who and what we have been entrusted with.

Application This proverb has a romantic or noble air to it. I mean, who doesn't want fat healthy sheep, increased profits and lower expenses, kids and a household that are fun and cared for? Starting well isn't the challenge, finishing strong is the challenge.

It is the daily discipline, the returning to what really matters that wears a grove into the chaos, that builds rhythm and life. Small steps repeated will take you anywhere you want to go.

Prayer Help me to pay attention to the main thing, the critical path, to stay focused in spite of the distractions.

Bud Lamb

For centuries people have asked this question. Was it to set a great example? Teach us important things? Show compassion? To start a revolution? Jesus answers the question in the story of a Zacchaeus from Luke 19:1-19.

Read the story it's pretty cool. It's about a lonely outsider who gets invited in, a person who has made massive mistakes who gets a fresh start. And the story shows how Zaccheus responds the invitation and the fresh start - a concept we call grace.

Our Honduras team of 30 willing volunteers had the opportunity to serve God in a medical, construction and evangelical mission trip. God enabled them to help 587 patients in a medical clinic, perform 22 surgeries, and see to the dental needs of 230 patients. 300 backpacks sewn by Rolling Hills Sewing ministry were filled with school supplies donated by our generous congregation. The Honduran children heard lessons on morality, faith and the love of Jesus and over 50 children made a commitment to Christ! Children in an orphanage in Tela received backpacks, toys and ice cream. Our construction team completed 4 projects, which included re-roofing homes for a pastor, a few families and a Sunday school classroom, which also served as a feeding center. The Eyeglass clinic delivered 98 pairs of reading glasses and 32 pairs of sunglasses. We give all the glory to God who provides for those he loves by using people who open their heart to his calling.
